Need an Official Record?
Hudson County records are split by document type and custodian:
- Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
- Criminal records and personal rap sheets: contact NJSP State Bureau of Identification and use the fingerprint review route
- County booking and jail records: call Hudson County Corrections at 201-395-5600 or use the county OPRA custodian
- Authorized state checks: use the New Jersey State Police SBI 212B service when eligibility rules are met
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Expungement: use the New Jersey Judiciary electronic expungement system
Superior Court files are available through the Criminal Records Room, 595 Newark Avenue, Room 104, Jersey City, NJ 07306, 201-217-5216, during published weekday vicinage hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. County agency OPRA requests go to the County of Hudson custodian at 567 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306, 201-795-6250. Hudson County Corrections is at 30-35 Hackensack Avenue, Kearny, NJ 07032, 201-395-5600. Call before visiting because the court, records counter, Sheriff's Office, and jail are separate locations.
